Marbled products

Hand decorated paper and marble paper covered items following the technique developed in the XVII century and refined by the Florentine bookbinders. They developed different ingredients and created new designs throughout more than 400 years. During these years materials used to marble paper developed, from water to different gelatines as a base and more complex colours to create the patterns, nowadays acrylic paints and distilled water or oil paints an terpentine. We use a new recipe which consists of special inks and solvents. The result is amazing! Bright tones and a number of variations given by blending the colours on a gel created with a moss called Carrageen. Colours are spread on the surface with a brush, then mixed to create different patterns. The classic Marble is obtained randomly mixing colours on a very liquid solution, the Peacock design instead using different combs on a thick base until we get the desired effect.
